He received an M.A. in Music Education from New York University. Loren taught choral music and music technology in the Teaneck, NJ public schools for over 30 years. He is also artist in residence and music coordinator for Jazz In The Spirit (a jazz worship series) at St. Paul\u2019s Lutheran Church in Teaneck, NJ. Loren is an active composer and performer and is currently working with the Reggie Pittman\/Loren Daniels Quartet, the Bradford Hayes Quartet, One More Once Big Band, the August Riska Trio and vocalists Macy Chen, Cynthia Soriano and Deborah Thurlow.<\/p>\n<p>As a composer\/lyricist, Loren has written music for a variety of settings. Many of his original pieces are performed by the Loren Daniels Trio and the Reggie Pittman\/Loren Daniels Quartet. He has composed several highly successful musicals for elementary school students. Loren collaborated with choreographers Joanne Koob and Susan Cherniak and composed new music for a series of modern dance performances that were reviewed in the New York Times. Loren composed and arranged music for two original theatrical productions, \u201cThe Man Was King\u201d by Lottie Porch and \u201cA Watch on King\u201d by Veona Thomas. A suite of his choral pieces based on phrases from the Declaration of Independence recently had its premiere performance and the Teaneck Community Chorus has commissioned and performed several of his choral pieces including, \u201cA Place At The Table\u201d and \u201cI Like Jazz\u201d. Loren has also composed, performed and recorded original soundtrack music which has been used on the Today Show and other NBC programs.<\/p>\n<p>A prolific composer and sought-after performer, Loren is a\u00a0<em>tour de force<\/em>\u00a0in the Greater New York area music scene and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Text-performance history&#8221; As his love of music and performance grew, Reggie followed his passion to further his knowledge in music and he went on to earn his Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Music Education at Kent State University, and his Masters in Music Technology in New York. On the performance side, Reggie began playing professionally around the Cleveland area starting in high school and throughout college. In addition to what he learned at school, Reggie credits much of his musical know-how as a top performer to what he learned from other professional musicians at these early gigs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #abc7de;\">Now a professional musician with over 30 years experience in the music business, Reggie has been living, performing and recording in the New York Area for over 20 years. In addition to performing and recording with several well-known artists and bands, such as Babyface, Lionel Hampton, and Jaimoe\u2019s Jasssz Band, Reggie has spent years as a band leader with his own bands and projects \u2014 including The Reggie Pittman\/ Loren Daniels Quartet \u2014 that span musical genres from jazz and R&amp;B, to funk, blues and gospel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #abc7de;\">Reggie is a talented composer and arranger; his original music appears on\u00a0<em>Point A to Point A,<\/em>\u00a0and on his upcoming Pittman \/ Daniels Quartet release\u00a0<em>Smilessence.<\/em>\u00a0 He has composed and recorded with an number of other artists, including a tune on the latest release by Jaimoe&#8217;s Jasssz Band, entitled <em>Points of Friendship.<\/em> Also an accomplished Producer, of note is his recording\u00a0<em>Poet I Am,<\/em>\u00a0a collaboration with poet \/ lyricist \/performer Lottie Porch in which Reggie composed the music and produced the CD.
